Configure Time Clock Settings

Time Clock Settings use rule-based configurations to control how time clocks behave across your organization.

Each rule can be applied to:

• Everyone
• Specific time clock

Settings are organized into expandable sections such as audio, display, biometric authentication, connectivity, and validation. Configure only the sections required for each rule.

Create a Time Clock Settings rule

1. Go to Global Settings > Devices > Time Clock Settings .
2. Review existing rules to understand current configurations and avoid creating duplicate or conflicting rules.
3. Click Create Rule.
4. Select the Audience:
   • Everyone
   • Specific time clock
5. Expand the sections you want to configure.
6. Update the required fields within each section.
7. Click Save.
   

Manage existing rules

1. Use the filters to view rules by:
   • All
   • Everyone
   • Time Clock
2. Select a rule.
3. Update the required settings.
4. Click Save.

Audio	Configure sound and alert behavior.
Card	Configure proximity card and badge format settings.
Display	Configure screen brightness, language, date format, time format, and sleep behavior.
Face Recognition	Configure face matching sensitivity and liveness detection settings.
Fingerprint	Configure fingerprint matching sensitivity and enrollment requirements.
Job Costing	Configure default jobs and automatic job transfer behavior.
Online	Configure real-time syncing and online connectivity settings.
Network Time Protocol	Configure device time synchronization settings.
Pin	Configure PIN authentication and keypad behavior.
Validation	Configure duplicate punch prevention and validation controls.
Bell Schedule	Configure bell timing, duration, and recurrence settings.

Best practices and watch-outs

Best practices

• Use an Everyone rule as the baseline configuration.
• Create more specific rules only when different behavior is required for a specific device.
• Review existing rules before creating new ones to avoid overlapping configurations.

Watch-outs

• Card format settings must match the physical badge type or employees may not be able to clock in.
• Higher biometric sensitivity may increase false rejections.
• Short sleep timers may negatively affect usability.
• Strict validation windows may block legitimate punches.
